What Is an Ambassador? 

The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Program shall be the official host and membership representative of the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce. It shall carry out those activities designed to improve the prestige and public image of the Chamber.

What Are the Responsibilities of the Program? 

Ambassadors are the public relations arm of the Chamber of Commerce. They serve as the welcoming committee for new partner coffees and ribbon cuttings as helpers at special events and as representatives of the Chamber, as they conduct business for themselves in the Bridge City and Orangefield areas.

Ambassadors actively recruit new partners for the Chamber. Remember, anyone interested in the community is a potential partner.

Ambassadors meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at 8:00 a.m. in the boardroom of the Chamber office

Ambassador Point System

Ambassadors earn points by attending and participating in different events and meetings. Each Ambassador is encouraged to keep records individually but are required to sign in at each event to obtain proper credit with the Bridge City Chamber.  Ambassadors must maintain a minimum of 200 points per year to remain an Ambassador.  Points shall be obtained one time for each event.   

Function Point Value 

Ribbon Cutting - 15 

Blazer or Shirt Worn at Chamber Functions - 5   

Ambassador Meetings, Bridge City Board Meetings - 15 

Bringing a First-Time Guest to an Avent - 15 

Retention and New Members Cards/Folders/Visit - 5 

Golden Triangle Days in Austin, must attend ALL Chamber functions - 100 

New Member Recruited - 50 

New Ambassador Recruit - .5 

Participate in Membership Drive - .10            

Attendance at Chamber Function - 10 

Event Meetings per Hour - 5 

Each Hour Worked at a Special Event    15

Requirements & Recognition

Life Ambassador

A “Life” Ambassador serves for 8 years of consecutive service and once a lifer must maintain 100 points per year to continue to be eligible to vote in the Ambassador program. Lifers are not required to attend all functions but are encouraged to do so. This award will be presented at the proper meeting and recognized at the Annual Banquet.

Ambassador of the Year

Criteria – a combination of enrolling minimum of two new members, total points for the year, and exemplifies the Ambassador Program. This honor is determined by three past Ambassadors of the Year who are not eligible for the award.  The recipient will be recognized in the Chamber Newsletter and local media. A plaque or trophy and pin are presented at the Annual Banquet. Ambassador is eligible to receive this honor only once in a 4-year period.

Gold Ambassador Name Badge/Jacket

Each new Ambassador receives a gold name badge after their first 100 pts. Once the initial 200 points are achieved, you may purchase your Red Blazer, and the chamber will provide you with your Ambassador logo.
